The course where Sergio García learned to play — an 18-hole, Par 72 parkland of 6,384 m in Borriol, opened in 1978 and one of the oldest in Spain. Home of the Sergio García Golf Academy.
Mediterráneo Golf in Borriol, just 6 km from Castellón city, is famous as the course where Sergio García learned to play as a child — and the Sergio García Golf Academy is based here. Designed by Ramón Espinosa and opened in 1978, it is one of the oldest courses in Spain, a mature Mediterranean parkland of 6,384 m dotted with olive, pine, carob and palm trees (and resident peacocks, swans and squirrels).
Seven holes feature water hazards and the back nine plays tougher than the front. On-site facilities include CentroSpa (pool, gym, jacuzzi, sauna) and padel courts. A public tariff is not currently published; an older visitor figure of around €67 is a reasonable guide — confirm with the club.
